Preconcieved Judgements...and why you shouldn't judge...

Its easy to look at someone and judge them based on their appearance or prehaps how they live. Let's stop doing that.  There is so much beneath the surface, that you have no idea why a person behaves or has a lifestyle like they do. For example, I went into a boutique I had never been in without my two children that have basicallt condemned me to shopping on-line because they don't want to look at "girl" stuff...lol, or rather I just don't know how to make it fun for them. So I went in in shorts and a t-shirt not realizing it was sort of an upperscale place. I was eyed the moment I walked in the door. I assumed it was because I was frumpy and looking the whole store over. In breezed a cute well dressed gal with all the bling and glitz going on, and a really cute layered look, which I thought was odd in August, but hey what do I know about fashion? I wear super hero t-shirts to make my kids smile!  In breezed the girl, and she was like a fashion tornado taking something off every rack and going to the dressing room. No one batted an eye at her, I was followed through the store and offered help at least 10 times in fifteen minutes. I was rather impressed with the customer service, and quite oblivious until I heard the door chime ring, and a the fashionista exited with haste. Quickly the CSR's started scrambling around and looking at one another and then one girl produced 5 empty hangers from the dressing room. Then it clicked! They thought I was going to steal! Boy did they peg me wrong! I mean, sometimes I just enjoy looking like a scallywag...lol. My point is, when you see someone looking at your junky dresser you set out on the curb on big trash day, don't freak out and judge them, they may not have a dresser, or knows someone who doesn't. If someones home is what you deem dirty instead of judging them, why not help them clean it maybe they battle with depression. If someones yard looks less appealing than yours and is cluttered, how about turn your head, because they may be suffering form PTSD or some other neurological issue that has them attached to the things you consider junk.
My point is everyone has the right to a happy life, just because your idea of happy and mine are different doesn't mean one or both of us aren't entitled to be happy. Quit judging the exterior, judge the heart, and the actions of a kind soul. I think often times people forget...It doesn't matter who the messenger is....the question is, did you get the message?

No Mercy

I deal with all sorts of issues. I am certainly glad I have taken some time off. I remember this time last year, when I moved someone into a rental house they had a steady drip in the kitchen sink, after they begged to move in a week early. Of course move in was on a weekend, and of course the part had to be ordered. I explained the entire situation and the future resident seemed more than happy to move in despite the unforeseen hiccup. I decided to let them, and waived a full days rent as courtesy, and gave them a $25 gift card, which I was thanked heavily for in person. I drove home that evening feeling rather good about myself, and was glad it was a win/win. Until the shrill little ding of my inbox ruined it all. I received an email from that resident stating in some futile attempt at using legal language via email, how unhappy and unprofessional I was to expect them to live in sub-par conditions with no concessions! WHAT?!?!?!? These people just got finished hugging me, and telling me how stellar I was! I read further into the email that I was now to agree to provide a new sink, faucet set, and granite counter tops at my expense, for their troubles, and in all the homes they have ever owned were left in better shape than when the acquired them. Seriously? Who the heck replaces the counter tops, sink and faucet, when all you need it a washer and new aerator? What sort of homeowner does this? I was further threatened with being dubbed a slum lord via social media if I didn't meet their needs! I kindly responded to the email that I would be back in pick up both the key and the gift card, and they could adhere to the original legal document of them moving in a week later, and the leak would be fixed by then. I reminded them the home had no granite or no new sink or need for a faucet on a two year old dwelling still under builders warranty. I told them they were welcome to tote their tale to social media, as legally speaking that would be slander. I waited for the email to send. Then drove back to the house in which they had basically emptied their u-haul into, and told them I was there to stick by the original legal document, that I would not grant any leniency. They were still reading the email on their phone, and met me quickly in the drive way to apologize, and say never mind it was a mistake that they were just hot and tired from moving. I nodded and listened to their feeble excuses, and told them kindly, to place their rebuttal in writing in response to my email, while I waited. They did, but still took to social media. WOW. This is why people have no compassion. This is why I am sure they never owned a home. By their logic a leaky sprinkler head would justify a new sprinkler system and sod! My lord! A moment of reflection, and I am glad I took some time away. Please remember how fickle some people can be... Yes they got to keep the gift cards, and turned out to be great residents! LOL

Drama and Normal people

I said I would take some time away and never look back. Yet here I am. I am pulled back to a blog like a gravitational force. Why am I here this time? I am here because of people reminding me of the comedy/drama masks.

They smile at you, while looking at you and then the minute you turn your head they are off starting drama. Perhaps I am old school, blunt, ballsy, or maybe I am just honest, but, I believe you handle your business with the person you take issue with, not take to yelp, or google review or some other childish form of technology in a grim attempt to ruin someone because you had a simple disagreement. Apparently phrases such as, "Have courage in your convictions", "Man up", and "Pull up your big girl panties" have fallen on deaf ears! Revenge is taken by a childish blog by blocked user, which refuses to hash things out so there can be an actual solution! To me these people are meer Whiners, not looking for a solution but rather drama. Some people thrive on it in fact. Chances are if you are reading this and getting offended, it is You. P.S. a social life (not social media life) might do you some good because regular people, don't have time to post the childish equivalent of "passing a bullying letter"  or "burn book" as was the old school way to do the same thing you are doing via social media. Cue Mean Girls scene or the ever so popular burn book!

Surely you don't think your input actually matters...people listen to your whining politely because they probably have to. Incessant whining, and you always being the victim to the reasonably intelligent population, realize right away you are always the common denominator :). The problem is you. There are self improvement books for that, please don't take it to social media, we are quite tired of hearing what a victim you are. I favor the Victor over the Victim. As Thumper on the elementary aged show Bambi says with wit and wisdom, "If you can't say nuffin' nice, don't say nuffin' at all." It's so simple even a bunny rabbit gets it.

A moment of thanks!

Well I said I wouldn't be back for a while, yet here I am. I want to use blogging for a positive front. Too many people take to social media to slam people or indirectly call them out rather than to face real life problems head on. This blog is dedicated to a recent positive experience, while purchasing my third home.

I am not the easiest customer. I do not have the most standard of schedules, due to the nature of my work. I have owned homes before and I am a loyal person once treated well. I recently closed on my third real estate investment. www.txcrealty.com THANK YOU! It means the world to close on a real estate investment in such a proficient manner. If anyone in the Bryan/College Station area is looking, I suggest these ladies. Carolyn and Debi, are some of the easiest and no-nonsense people to work with. There is a direct answer for a direct question, and if something is unsure, there is research done and a prompt correspondence with an answer. Not only does #texascrosswindsrealty #collegestation #bryan #realestate handle buying, sales, and investments, but they also handle rentals. Hands down I suggest them to anyone! Check them out. www.txcrealty.com.

Thanks ladies, in the near future you will be helping me with my next investment!

New Horizons

It has been almost a year now, that I have broken necessary ties. At the time it was a hard pain staking decision, of which I dwell on and lost sleep over. I often wonder how someone at my age, and be so mature as to realize that business relationships end, and friendships can move forward. Change is inevitable, and in most cases necessary. It's business; not personal. I was sucker punched by a few hard blows when I realized that my view wasn't shared nor respected. Rather than to engage the drama, I simply stepped away and kept trudging though my decision so I could meet some personal and private long term goals I had set for myself. It seemed after about six months rocked on all was well, and friendships were intact, and everyone had just made a business decision. I quickly learned how wrong I was. Malice, and lies dripped from the lips of people I had so foolishly called my friends. I had moved on, but they had not, and tried to implicate me in some social media drama which I wanted no part of. I was infuriated. So I did what any sane person would have. I extracted them. Just like a festering cavity that had eaten at a poor tooth for far too long. I removed them quickly and quietly from my life, and asked them to do the same. I haven't spoken of or thought of them or the situation since, which had helped me as a person and professional. I guess I share this story so I can close this horrid chapter of 2013, and broaden my horizons for a bountiful 2014.  I have made the right decision and go into my New Year with all my aspirations and dreams laid out before me. Hope you all have a great New Year!

Toot your Horn

I am all for the occasional "Pat yourself on the back" but people there is a fine line of patting yourself on the back and beating yourself into the ground. Everyone does not need to know every single detail of every great thing, or good deed you do. A once in awhile blog should cover it, not a daily out pouring of how wonderful you are! I mean seriously blow your horn and not your load of crap. Post after nauseating post of self righteous ME-ISMS makes my stomach roll. I eventually start to doubt that you have time to conquer the world and do all those good deeds while you spend every minute of your spare time jotting down all the fantastic things you do and post it all over social media and the web. I do tons of great things, but let’s face it folks I am human and I make tons of mistakes too, but I don't pound meaningless babble out on a blog post expecting to be worshipped. Instead, I post anything funny, embarrassing, happy, sad, and conquests that cross my mind randomly, and non-consistently to make someone get a laugh, or maybe a revelation, but I don't ever go around fishing for compliments. In fact I would rather be viewed as an Honest Introvert than fashioning myself after some pseudo-celeb that does all these wonderful things (on social media anyways). SHUT UP. Show me, don't tell me. Less blog, more action. However you want to put it. Just remember the next time you make your post of vanity all over social media, even super heroes had some sense of discretion. :)

I am all for the anonymous PAY-IT-FORWARD, because deeds like that come back to you, no matter who the gift is received from. Random acts of kindness go much further in my book, and I don’t feel the need to document it on social media. How about that? I can do good deeds without trying to get in the public eye.

HACKED

It's been AWHILE! I have been PHOTO HACKED! Can you believe after almost a year and a kind request for removal of my photos from a company I no longer work for, I go on the web and behold my photos, still plastered all over the web, social media and places I never even knew possible! The audacity. I call it life hacked. Need I mention I never signed a single piece of paper authorizing said pictures to be published? What a nightmare. I am proud to say the majority is gone, but there are still some stragglers, and I would just think a Decent person would respect ones wishes to remove these items. No. Still there. I wonder how many other people have been photo hacked? What moves did you make to get the straggling remains of your photos removed, what were your feelings of finding yourself on the web, photos you never posted of yourself on the web? I feel photo hacked. My feelings are, if I didn't post my photos to the web, then it goes without saying that YOU shouldn't. CATFISH much people? I implore you, if you have not already Google your name/image and make sure the things out there on you are thing you chose to post, and not something someone posted of you out of SPITE.
